My goal for Congregation Agudat Achim is to build a kehillah k’doshah, a sacred community. As a Conservative rabbi, I believe passionately in the capacity of the elaborate ritual and ethical practices of Judaism to inject meaning and a sense of purpose into our modern lives. Here at Agudat Achim, we root ourselves in Torah, but believe Torah is not merely the closed canon of Bible and Talmud, but also the ongoing record of the People Israel’s 4000 year old dialogue with God.
In our community, we value Jewish learning and practice, but also extend an open, non-judgmental hand to everybody who walks through our doors. We also seek ways large and small to better our world and bring all its people peace and freedom from want. I believe that task is one of the major purposes of Judaism.
My wife, Rabbi Miriam, our children Tali, Ari, and Shuli, and I look forward to meeting you soon. If you are at a religious service or event here, please make a point to introduce yourself.
