Shabbat Services:
Shabbat services start every week at 9:15a.m.
Prayer at Agudat Achim is a warm communal experience. The services are conducted by a Service leader and members of the synagogue, many of whom take part on a regular basis.
All of our prayer books have a complete English translation as well as phonetic transliterations of the communal prayers.
Come and stay for Kiddush and socialize with friends!

Tot Shabbat:
Tot Shabbat services are held once a month on the second Shabbat of the month. This special Shabbat service of prayer, story, song and activities is led by award winning educator Jackie Rowen. A Religious School parent herself, Jackie leads this monthly service for ages 2 to 6 that incorporates stories, songs, prayers, and includes parental participation. A special kid friendly Kiddush is held after the program. Parents are welcome to enjoy this warm introduction to a synagogue service with their children, or to join the adult service.

Junior Congregation:
What is Junior Congregation? Junior congregation is an opportunity for children to lead and participate in Shabbat services, assisted by a few teen or parent volunteers. Part of our vision is to help our students comfortably participate in services. To that end, Junior Congregation Services, a Saturday morning service tailored for Religious School students, is part of the Religious School requirements. Students can also gain an appreciation and increased comfort level of services by attending Friday evening services, afternoon minyans, and holiday services as well as other specially-created programs to serve this purpose
Where does Junior Congregation happen? In our small chapel, around 10:30 am on select Saturday mornings.
Why is Junior Congregation important? Don’t the children learn prayers in Hebrew school? The children STUDY prayers in Hebrew school, but they PRAY in Junior Congregation. Actively learning to pray, and to become comfortable with the structure of the Shabbat morning service, only happens when children are given the opportunity to participate in actual services.
Why do the children need a special service? Children can certainly join in adult services, and we are so happy when the children do! Junior Congregation is special because it is a service for kids…it is just a different, interactive experience.
Will this help my child be more prepared for bar/bat mitzvah? Absolutely!
Is Junior Congregation fun? We love to have fun at Junior Congregation – encourage your child to invite a friend, stay a little while, socialize….but prayer is also a focused activity. It requires effort, and the children learn and grow through their participation. We discuss the meaning and purpose of specific prayers, the parsha of the week…it’s an important part of the complete religious school experience.
Through Junior Congregation, children gain confidence leading prayers. As they learn the meaning of our prayers and the structure of the service the community of our young worshippers is strengthened.
Frequent Davener Points are back next year!
Very popular with the children years ago, we are bringing back this successful program. Each week at Jr. Congregation, every child who attends for the entire service will be given a card worth 100 "Frequent Davener" points. Twice a year, in Dec. and in June, they can 'cash in' their cards for all kinds of fun prizes
