Countdown to Carrot Festival - Sept. 14, 2008
The best thing to cap off a glorious summer season is a fabulous upstate autumn! And that means it’s time for the finest annual mega-harvest and craft fair in the region. Thousands of visitors will be coming to our very own Annual Carrot Festival. Believe it or not, Sunday, September 14 marks the 30th year of fun, food, and friends on the spacious grounds of our synagogue.
Why Carrots? 30 years ago one of our farmer congregants and some of his friends thought we could have a celebration that featured our farmer's most important crop - the CARROT. Since then the carrots have kept growing and so has our Festival. Today it is one of the area's most popular September activities.
Plans for this year’s Carrot Festival include even more local agricultural produce, crafters and vendors, big name entertainment, a petting zoo and other exciting activities. And we can’t forget the fabulous eat-in/take-out foods and baked goodies we have all come to love from our volunteer kitchen force. Come and be a part of this extraordinary event!
Crafters and vendors wanted!
