President Jeffrey Handelman

Jeffrey is a lifelong member of Congregation Agudat Achim, and is currently in his fifth year on the Board. He has served on the Executive Committee for three years and was a member of the Religious School Board for three years, where he was co-chair of the search committee for the Religious School Director. He has also chaired the Joseph Cohen Memorial lecture. Jeffrey is the Deputy Director of Human Resources and Administration for the New York State School Boards Association, where he has been employed since 1992.

He and his wife, Eileen, have two children who are 5th generation members of the Congregation.

Vice President Carl Korn

Carl Korn is in his second term as vice president of Congregation Agudat Achim, following five years as a member of the synagogue’s Board of Trustees. He lives with his wife, Cara, and their two children, Haley, 15 and Josh, 13, in Niskayuna. Carl is the chief press officer for the 600,000-member New York State United Teachers and is a dedicated runner who has completed six marathons and 10 half-marathons.
